For those who don't know, boom bap is the sound associated with 80's Hip-Hop. So what seems to be the problem with boom bap?

Boom bap rap has got that hard BOOM sound and was a the trademark sound of the 80's Hip-Hop movement. It was hard, in your face and apologetic. The rhymes hard and gritty. It laid the platform for what was to become the biggest thing since Rock n Roll.

That hard n gritty "boom bap" sound carried well into the mid 90s and then it faded out.

This period when Hip-Hop started up until 1994 was called by many as the Hip-Hops Golden Era.

Times have changed, styles have changed. New York no longer is the top ranking place to produce the best rap music. Other regions and perhaps a country (Canada) have taken over.

The whole sound of rap the beats have changed. That boom bap sound is no longer relevant. But some still
want that back. That hard sound they have grown to love.

Most of these people one can safely say has been caught in a time warp (time capsule). They enjoyed what the boom bap gave them and the wonderful memories it reminds them off.

Whilst die hard producers and rappers from the old school still bring out music that has that boom bap sound, it fails to hit the mark that they so want hit.

Rap as a genre has to progress no  matter how bad it gets, it has to evolve to greater heights.

Most people won't check for a certain region's music due to a certain sound.
